This operation is designed to provide support of the roof of the vagina when previous hysterectomy has weakened vaginal support. Vaginal vault prolapse frequently accompanies other forms of vaginal prolapse (cystocele, rectocele, enterocele). Dr. Safir performs a newer operation that is performed entirely within the vagina and allows restoration of symmetrical vaginal anatomy and provision of durable support.
